Through the Looking-Glass (2018)

I wrote this piece for an evening class at Juilliard in composition. It is a theme and variations based on an atonal melody that I later used for the second movement of my piano piece Still Life in Four Movements. The opening is based on one of the movements from György Kurtág’s Messages of the Late R.V. Troussova.
