Deconstruction (2022)
for clarinet, violin, cello, and piano (7′)
Deconstruction is written in a free, almost stream-of-consciousness, form that is shaped by a percussive motive in which the pianist plays very low and very high keys. Starting in the middle of the piece, simple, mysterious melodies in the strings begin to take over. In the last minutes, the piece slows down almost to a standstill.
